Rufus Wainwright Announces Unfollow The Rules Autumn UK Tour

Rufus Wainwright will take his Unfollow The Rules Tour across the UK this autumn.
The singer-songwriter will kick things off in Southampton on October 13, following which he'll head to Cardiff, Oxford, Liverpool, Cambridge, Southend-On-Sea, Birmingham, Sheffield, Gateshead, Edinburgh, York, Manchester, Exeter, Brighton and London, where he'll finish up with two nights at the Palladium on November 2 and 3. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on April 17. He said:
"I am excited to tour the UK in the late fall with my new band, performing the songs from my upcoming album release. I consider Unfollow the Rules my first fully mature album; it is like a bookend to the beginning of my career.
"For me, thinking about this tour is like a light at the end of this dark tunnel that we are all in together. It gives me hope and confidence that we will rise above this collectively. And while it might seem that we are not moving forward swiftly in this dark long tunnel, I know that we will reach the light again and be able to be together and listen to and play music together. I cannot wait to be part of that moment for my fans and share this music live with them."
The tour, on which he'll be joined by a full band, shares its name with Wainwright's new album, the release of which has been pushed back to July 10 — the warehouse that was housing the physical copies of the record has closed due to the coronavirus.
Due to the pandemic, he also had to cancel his April London shows. However, his previously announced UK and European shows this summer still appear to be going ahead. Head below for further details.
