Preceded by the recently shared Dead Weight, Gimme A Minute is the second cut to be taken from the Massachusetts rockers' third LP, ‘Use Me’, which is set to arrive via Reprise/Warner Records on July 10. The initial release date of May 1 was scrapped over concerns regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
The upbeat track plays with oscillating synths and explosive guitar leads to create a hybrid of electro-pop and rock. The accompanying clip, meanwhile, juxtaposes natural imagery with surreal, sci-fi inspired visuals that take influence from future technology. Band leader Lynn Gunn said:
"The last two years have been a LOT to process – I was navigating health issues while trying to make this album in a timely manner. The pacing and dynamic of the song feels similar to when your mind starts to spiral on something, the quiet start slowly stirring and building eventually landing into chaos."
PVRIS recently postponed their spring North American tour, with new dates yet to be announced. Keep up to date in real time with new information via Stereoboard.
