Paul Weller Continues To Tease 'On Sunset' With New Single Village

Paul Weller has released a new single.
Village is the latest preview of his new album, 'On Sunset', which is due out on June 19 through Polydor, having been pushed back by a week. The Modfather co-wrote the song with his longtime producer Jan ‘Stan’ Kybert, and it features his former Style Council bandmate Mick Talbot on keyboards.
The track is an expansive offering, bringing together elements of rock, pop and indie with a rich string accompaniment, slick guitar riffs and Talbot's keys. Weller said:
“Village” is a dreamy and beautiful meditation sung from the decidedly un-rock’n’roll perspective of a man who is entirely happy with his state in life. It’s a response to being told that we’ve all got to explore the Amazon and climb Everest to make our lives complete. And there’s a guy who says, fuck all that, I’ve got heaven around me.”
Weller will support the new record with a UK and Ireland tour later this year. He also recently rescheduled his spring UK tour to 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Head below for further details.
