Envious is a breezy, house track which finds the singer — well known as one half of the duo AlunaGeorge — addressing emotions over a pulsating, funk-influenced bassline. It's accompanied by a Hamadou Frederic Balde-directed video that finds Aluna embarking on a dance-filled adventure.
Envious marks the fourth song to be shared from her upcoming debut solo album, 'Renaissance', out on August 28. It'll include the previously released tracks Body Pump and Get Paid featuring Princess Nokia and Jada Kingdom, as well as contributions from SG Lewis, Kaytranada, and Rema, among others. She said in a statement:
"I think people really need this song right now because I believe it’s my best ‘cry dance’ song; a style I coined to describe that exquisite feeling when all your emotions are released while dancing so you cry at the same time. I feel like in these times people need that at least once a day."
