Creeper's Will Gould has confirmed details of a new project, Salem.
The vocalist and longtime friend Matt Reynolds of Howard’s Alias, Skylar and Drawings are set to release their self-titled debut EP on October 23 via Roadrunner Records. It'll feature the newly shared punk single Destroy Me, which unfolds around buzzsaw guitars and a buoyant chorus. Discussing it, Gould said:
"Destroy Me is a really good introduction that summarises the band, it had the right kind of energy from the offset. This band feels like a love letter to a lot of our early influences. It’s a return to our roots in a lot of ways."
"It was a labour of love for us,” he continued about the EP. "We're releasing when a lot of kids are stuck inside, or if they're not, their life isn’t quite the same. It’s a way to soundtrack this very difficult time. The power of punk rock is that it helps you forget about the monotony of every day. And life has never been as monotonous as it is now."
Creeper, meanwhile, put out their second LP, 'Sex, Death & The Infinite Void', back in July. They'll support the record with a rescheduled UK tour next spring. Original tickets remain valid, while Holding Absence, Wargasm and Static Dress are set to support.
