Bastille have shared an animated video for Survivin'.
The track landed in September and follows the Graham Coxon collaboration What You Gonna Do???. It was written prior to the COVID-19 lockdown by vocalist Dan Smith who intended it to be a reflection on the highs and lows experienced during the band's seven years together.
The sleek clip, meanwhile, was directed by Reza Dolatabadi and draws inspiration from American realist artist Edward Hopper and surrealist filmmaker Federico Fellini. Dolatabadi said:
"Overall I wanted to give the video a grand feel, almost like it belongs on the big screen, and for that we had to build a city in 3D, lock all the camera angles and movements and then animate our characters over the 3D layouts.
"Animation is a teamwork. I have to say I’ve been so lucky to work with an incredible team of artists from all over the world on this project. Without their dedication and attention to details there was no way I could have finished this ambitious piece."
Bastille's last album was 2019's 'Doom Days'.
