Stereophonics' Kelly Jones has shared details of a new solo LP and documentary.
'Don’t Let The Devil Take Another Day' will arrive on December 4 via Parlophone Records as a double CD, triple LP and via digital streaming platforms.
It'll feature 18 of the Welsh rockers' biggest songs stripped back and re-recorded alongside two tracks from Jones' 2007 LP, 'Only The Names Have Been Changed', and a newly shared intimate cover of Kris Kristofferson’s classic Help Me Make It Through The Night.
The record's companion film, meanwhile, will premiere at the Doc 'n' Roll Film Festival on November 4 before screening at cinemas around the UK on November 27, hitting on demand services from December 3. Head here for details.
Discussing the singer's big screen debut, which tells a deeply personal story, director Ben Lowe said:
"I've been to hundreds of gigs in my life – shooting with my camera or purely as a fan – but I'd never experienced a show quite like Kelly's on this tour. You recognize there's something pretty special happening on-stage if the performances, and the stories he was telling between them, can make an audience laugh and cry on the same night.
"I wanted to make this documentary feel as truthful and heartfelt as Kelly's shows. I knew it would be beautiful to hear these songs in a theatre, but I was really blown away. After the tour when Kelly told me about his first few months of the year, I felt inspired by the courage and honesty of it all."
Stereophonics put out their 11th studio album, 'Kind', in 2019. Earlier in 2020, they were forced to cancel their summer dates in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
