Lynyrd Skynyrd are a southern-rock band from Jacksonville, Florida.

Formed in 1966, the band currently consists of Johnny Van Zant, Rickey Medlocke, Mark “Sparky” Matejka, Michael Cartellone, Peter Keys, Michael Cartellone and Keith Christopher.

Well known for pioneering and glamourising the southern-rock genre almost single-handedly, Lynyrd Skynyrd are a band that will remain part of music history forever. They are best known for the songs Sweet Home Alabama and Free Bird, with the latter said to be one of the most requested songs in rock history.

The band have released more than 10 studio albums during the course of their career, the latest being 2012's 'Last of a Dyin' Breed', as well as numerous compilation records and live LPs.


The masters of Southern rock will be hitting the festival circuit hard this spring and summer. They’ll kick things off with a March 5 appearance at the , then join the traveling “” (headlined by Kid Rock and Nickelback) for multiple dates. On June 21, they’ll headline the Eau Claire, Wisconsin”Summer Jam 2025″ with the Marshall Tucker Band and Rick Springfield.

Lynyrd Skynyrd will hit the US festival circuit hard in summer 2025, with appearances confirmed at Florida's Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida, the touring Rock The Country Festival, and Summer Jam in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
