A new video has been shared for The Clash track The Magnificent Seven.
The clip was created by filmmaker Don Letts and combines unearthed footage of the punk pioneers performing the song on the New York-based talk show The Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder, alongside archival shots of the band in Manhattan during their 17-night residency at Bond’s International Casino. Take a look below.
The Magnificent Seven marked the third single off the Clash’s sprawling fourth studio album, ’Sandinista!’, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this month. Frequent Clash collaborator, Letts said:
"They were always ahead of the game – Sandinista! signposted the multi-cultural way music was going and the elements that make The Clash great are still a currency that’s recognised by youth in the 21st century."
