System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian has unveiled details of a new solo EP.
'Elasticity' will arrive on March 19 via Alchemy Recordings/BMG and comprises five songs made while System Of A Down were contemplating a new album. He said:
"When I conceived possibly doing another record with the guys from System of a Down a few years back, I started working on a set of songs that I arranged in rock format for that purpose.
"As we weren’t able to see eye to eye on the vision going forward with an SOAD album, I decided to release these songs under my moniker."
Along with the news comes the EP's title track, which retains the familiar eclectic vocal prowess that the singer is known for, with more electronic bite than the metal anthems of System Of A Down. Head below to view its accompanying Vlad Kaptur-directed video.
System Of A Down recently shared a video for Genocidal Humanoidz, which arrived in November 2020 as a double a-side single with Protect The Land. The tracks marked the band's first new music since their 2005 album 'Hypnotize'.
The band will headline this summer's Download Festival alongside KISS and Biffy Clyro. They also have two rescheduled shows in Los Angeles with Korn, Faith No More, Hemet, and Russian Circles in the diary for May.
'Elasticity' EP tracklisting:
1. Elasticity
2. Your Mom
3. Rumi
4. How Many Times?
5. Electric Yerevan
