Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard have released a video for their new single.
Crescent Man vs Demolition Dan serves as a taste of what's to come from the Cardiff-based band's upcoming debut album.
Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard's distinguishable sound is characterised by their fusion of '70s-inspired rock riffs and contemporary indie melodies, but with lyrics that wouldn't be out of place on an angsty punk record.
The track is inspired by their local community's outrage at the demolition of Guildford Crescent—a much-loved area of Cardiff that housed many independent businesses—and the feeling that the only thing that could save their hometown's cultural scene is a superhero. Enter: Crescent Man. Frontman Tom Rees said:
“While we all acknowledge that a superhero could never exist, the villain still does – they knocked down an established music venue and a family owned restaurant, leaving the facade to tremble in the shadow of what antiquated structure will presumably tower over it.
"The situation seems to be getting bleaker and bleaker, and with every failed protest I’m increasingly of the opinion that anyone who believes in effective protest might as well believe in superheroes, and even then I still think the fat cats would get one on us.”
This release follows the success of the band's debut EP, 2020's 'The Non-Stop', and their previous 2021 singles; New Age Millennial Magic and Warm It Up.
While it can't be promised that you'll catch a glimpse of an epic battle between Crescent Man and Demolition Dan in person, you can catch Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard live in October at The Social in London.
