Thursday Share New Song Taking Inventory Of A Frozen Lake

Friday, 03 January 2025 Written by Laura Johnson

Thursday have unveiled a new song, Taking Inventory Of A Frozen Lake.

The expansive and melodic post-hardcore track was written by the band's Tim Payne, Steve Pedulla, Geoff Rickly and Tucker Rule with Norman Brannon and Stuart Richardson. The latter also produced and mixed the song, with additional engineering coming from Steve Evetts.

It follows Application For Release From The Dream, which came out in April 2024 and marked their first new song in 13 years, and the subsequent White Bikes that arrived in December. Introducing the new track via social media on New Year's Eve, the New Jersey band said:

"SURPRISE! As the clock strikes midnight on the jet black new year, we want to start the year the with a new song, a new tour(starting in 10 days) and a new resolution(to keep writing and hope that more songs follow)!

"It reminds us of an updated version of the kind of songs we gravitated towards in the Full Collapse era and we are so blessed and so happy to share it with you."

The new single arrives ahead of them hitting the road to support Silverstein on their 25 Years of Noise Tour of North America. They will also support them on the UK and European leg of the tour in the spring. Tickets are on sale now.

Thursday's last studio album was 2011's 'No Devolución'.
