Royal Blood And Goodnight, Texas Share Metallica Covers For 'The Blacklist'

Royal Blood are among the latest contributors to 'The Metallica Blacklist' covers album.
The Brighton duo stay true to their own style in a faithful revamp of Sad But True, which arrives along with a folk-rock take on Of Wolf And Man from American band Goodnight, Texas. An archive recording of the thrash icons performing that same song in Germany in 1993 has also been unveiled.
Both tracks will appear on the star-studded, 53-song tribute album celebrating the 30th anniversary of Metallica's classic self-titled LP, better known as 'The Black Album'. Other acts contributing reworked songs to the LP include Biffy Clyro with their version of Holier Than Thou, St Vincent's industrial revamp of Sad But True, and Weezer's take on Enter Sandman.

Royal Blood recently confirmed a performance as part of The Eden Sessions in Cornwall for September 14, the day after a warm-up gig at Lincoln's Engine Shed. They also tour the UK and Europe in spring 2022, supporting their third studio album, 'Typhoons', released in April.
Metallica will appear at North American festivals this fall, along with two hometown gigs at San Francisco's Chase Center in December, the centerpiece of a celebration marking their 40th birthday. They also have European festivals in the diary for summer 2022.
