Body/Head, the duo of Kim Gordon and Bill Nace, have joined electronic experimentalist Aaron Dilloway for a collaborative project.
Operating as Body/Dilloway/Head, the trio will release their three-track self-titled debut album on November 19. As a preview, they've unveiled Goin' Down, a menacing, six-minute instrumental that deals in hypnotic, droning guitar effects.
The track marks the first new material from Body/Head since their 2018 second album, 'The Switch'. Gordon said in a statement:
"One of the things I like most about playing improvised music and especially in Body/Head with Bill is the constantly exhilarating freedom and surprise about what is going to happen at any given moment.
"Making this record with Aaron Dilloway, who I have always admired so much, added in another layer of unknown and another way of giving up control. Aaron took our sounds / music as a source and had 'his way with it' so to speak, crushing whatever narrative that existed in order to enter into it and making something different than what we would have done as Body/Head."
Check out the artwork and tracklist below, which features an opener clocking in at 17 minutes and the last cut being over 13.
'Body/Dilloway/Head' tracklist:
1. Body/Erase
2. Goin' Down
3. Secret Cuts
