Robert Plant and Alison Krauss have shared a new original song.
Following Can't Let Go, High And Lonesome serves as the second preview of 'Raise The Roof', the pair's first LP together in 14 years, due out on November 19 via Warner.
Cast across shuffling percussion, handclaps and bluesy guitar lines, the track marks the record's only original composition. The legendary Led Zeppelin singer co-wrote the song with T Bone Burnett, who also produced the album, having helmed the duo's first full-length, 2007's 'Raising Sand'.
'Raise The Roof' predominantly features covers of tunes from legends of folk, blues, country and soul music, including Merle Haggard, Allen Toussaint, The Everly Brothers, Anne Briggs, Geeshie Wiley, Bert Jansch and more. It also boasts contributions from drummer Jay Bellerose, guitarists Marc Ribot, David Hidalgo, Bill Frisell and Buddy Miller, bassists Dennis Crouch and Viktor Krauss, and pedal steel guitarist Russ Pahl, among others.
