Soft Cell have unveiled a new song, Bruises On My Illusions.
Following the previously unveiled Heart Like Chernobyl, it's the latest preview of 'Happiness Not Included', the synth-pop legends' first album in 20 years, due out on February 25 via BMG.
Set to a dark, gothic backdrop, the track offers a brooding and dramatic aesthetic. Marc Almond said: "Bruises On My Illusions is a mini film noir Soft Cell story about a disillusioned character with everything against him or her who still has hope for a better future, despite the odds. A darker 'Bedsitter'. Dave's ominous yet punchy, defiant chords inspired the song."
Dave Ball also commented: "One of our darker cinematic pop moments with a classic Marc Almond lyric."
Prior to the record's release, the pair will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their 1981 debut LP, 'Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret', with a UK tour in November. Tickets are on sale.
