Spoon are back with a new single and details of their 10th studio album.
The long-awaited follow-up to 2017's 'Hot Thoughts' is called 'Lucifer On The Sofa' and will arrive on February 11 via Matador Records.
Co-produced by Mark Rankin, with contributions from Dave Fridmann and Justin Raisen, the LP marks the band's first material recorded to tape in their hometown of Austin, Texas, in more than a decade. Commenting on it, frontman Britt Daniel said: "It's the sound of classic rock as written by a guy who never did get Eric Clapton."
To celebrate the news, Spoon have dropped the record's first single, The Hardest Cut, a minimalist offering that flexes a tight, bluesy guitar work-out. It was co-written by Daniel with keyboardist-guitarist Alex Fischel, who added: "I spent a lot of 2018 and 2019 listening to ZZ Top."
The track's video features the group performing the song at a house party. Take a look below, along with the album's tracklist and artwork, created by artist Edel Rodriguez.
