James Bay Announces Intimate UK Shows As Part Of Independent Venue Week

James Bay has confirmed a UK tour for early 2022.
In support of Independent Venue Week, the singer-songwriter has lined up intimate solo shows at grassroots venues in Cardiff, Brighton, London, Bedford, Norwich, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Stockton between January 24 and February 4. Introducing the New Songs New Stories Tour on social media, he commented:
"This summer, for the first time since September 2019 I finally got to play live to my fans again. They were intimate shows to just a few hundred people. But they were of course so, so special. It was just me, a microphone and my guitar, nothing else onstage. And although I can’t wait to go back out with the band and make a racket, those shows in the summer really got to me. They reminded me of how I got started, performing in small independently run venues. They reminded me why I love to do what I do.
"So I decided I’ll start 2022 with a tour of the same kind of shows. In celebration of Independent Venue Week I’ll be travelling around the UK next January and February, just me and my guitar. But to keep it extra special, I’m going to bring you a load of new songs and stories too! I’ve been lucky enough to keep busy through all these lockdowns and I have so much to share from what became a very creative time.
"I cannot wait for this special little tour and I hope to see as many of you there as possible."
Tickets go on general sale at 9am on December 3.
Bay is currently working on his third studio album, the follow-up to 2018's 'Electric Light'. In 2020, he put out the 'Turn It Up' EP, which included the single Chew On My Heart.
UPDATE Jan 18: Please see the below statement from venue Clwb Ifor Bach about the reschedule of the Cardiff show from January 24 to February 6.
Due to current Welsh Government guidelines the @JamesBayMusic event is unable to take place on the 24th January.
Restriction will be lifted from the 28th January so this event will now be taking place on the 6th February.
