American Football Release Two New Songs Rare Symmetry And Fade Into You

Thursday, 09 December 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

American Football have released two new singles, their first new material in two years.

Rare Symmetry is an original composition, while b-side Fade Into You is a cover of the Mazzy Star track, with Miya Folick on guest vocals. The former is a lush, atmospheric number that fuses chiming vibraphones with intricate guitar lines, while the latter is stretched out longer than the original.

Both songs will be available on 10" vinyl through Big Scary Monsters on June 10. They mark the last recordings to feature jazz-influenced drummer and trumpet player Steve Lamos, who departed the band earlier in 2021 after two decades.

American Football put out their self-titled third LP in 2019.
