Father John Misty has announced his new album.
'Chloë and The Next 20th Century' will arrive on April 8 via Sub Pop Records and Bella Union. The long awaited follow-up to 2018's 'God's Favorite Customer' was written and recorded between August and December 2020, and produced by Jonathan Wilson and Josh Tillman (aka Father John Misty).
As well as standard formats, the record will also be available as a limited edition deluxe two-LP box set featuring expanded artwork, a hardcover photo book, poster and two bonus 7” singles featuring covers by Lana Del Rey and Jack Cruz.
Head below to check out the album's tracklist, artwork by Lauren Ward, Alex Kweskin and Alia Penner, and first single, Funny Girl. The track brings together Tillman's trademark nonchalant indie-folk with big band magic complete with uplifting strings. Check out its equally magical video below.
Alongside news of the album, Tillman has announced two special shows; the first in Los Angeles on February 25 accompanied by the city's Philharmonic Orchestra and the second at the Barbican in London on April 7 with Britten Sinfonia conducted by Jules Buckley. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on January 7.
