The Smile have shared their debut single.
The trio — Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, with Sons Of Kemet's Tom Skinner — made their live debut as part of a Glastonbury livestream event in spring 2021, followed by a surprise performance on Instagram in December.
Now they've dropped You Will Never Work In Television Again, a ferocious track driven by a surging guitar riff, produced by Radiohead's longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich. The band also revealed in a tweet that, "The Smile album is at the track-listing stage (6227020800 possible song orders)."
Alongside the new song, the group have announced three live shows, all to be performed within 24 hours at Magazine London on January 29 (8pm GMT) and January 30 (1am and 11am GMT) to an audience in the round. The gigs will also be broadcast in real-time via a livestream. Physical and livestream tickets go on sale at 9am on January 7.
The Smile Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows
Sat January 29 2022 - LONDON Magazine
Sun January 30 2022 - LONDON Magazine
