Johnny Marr has shared a new single.

Night And Day reflects on the pandemic era and appears on the former Smiths guitarist's 'Fever Dreams Pt 3' EP, the third instalment of his upcoming first double LP, 'Fever Dreams Pts 1-4'.

Propelled by the jangle of Marr's guitar, the radiant song includes backing vocals and bass playing from Simone Marie of Primal Scream. It mirrors the general theme of the full-length, that hope endures in trying times, with Marr commenting: "I need songs after all the news, news, news. It gets too real in the hotspots."

"I'm trying to be positive, for me and my audience, really. My personality is such that it occurs to me to think that way. I’m not just writing with positivity for the sake of a song. It’s real, and it’s also very necessary."

Other tracks on the third part of the record include Speed Of Love, Counter-Clock World and Rubicon. Previously unveiled cuts include Spirit, Power And Soul from the first quarter, and Tenement Time and Sensory Street from the second. The whole album is due out on February 25, following up 2018’s 'Call The Comet'.

The 58-year-old will join Blondie as support on their Against The Odds Tour this spring, prior to hitting the road with The Killers in the United States beginning in August.
