Daddy Yankee Announces Retirement With Final US Farewell Tour And Album 'Legendaddy'

Daddy Yankee has announced his plan to retire from music after one final studio album and a farewell tour.
The star, one of reggaeton's biggest names, confirmed the news on Sunday (March 20), revealing that he is planning on hanging up his mic after 32 years in the music industry. In a video statement posted to YouTube, he said:
"This race, which has been a marathon, finally sees the finish line. Now, I am going to enjoy what all of you have given me. People say that I made this genre worldwide, but it was you who gave me the key to open the doors to make it the biggest in the world."
The 46-year-old rapper, whose real name is Ramón Ayala, will drop a final LP, 'Legendaddy', this Thursday (March 24). Following that, he'll embark on a five-month North American La Última Vuelta (The Last Round)Tour on August 10 in Portland, Oregon, wrapping in Mexico on December 2. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on March 30.
