Father John Misty has released a new track.
The Next 20th Century is a brooding, seven-minute offering that serves as one of the two title tracks from Josh Tillman's forthcoming LP (the other being Chloë), due out on April 8 via Sub Pop/Bella Union.
Cast across warm instrumentation that weaves into a lush arrangement of strings with lightly brushed drums, the mostly stripped-back composition also includes a blistering guitar solo and dramatic piano chords. It'll feature on 'Chloë And The Next 20th Century' alongside the already shared cuts Funny Girl, Q4, and Goodbye Mr. Blue.
Tillman recently performed in Cardiff as part of the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival, and has a concert at the Barbican in London lined up for April 7, with Britten Sinfonia conducted by Jules Buckley. Ahead of that, he'll kick off a series of intimate in-store gigs this week, beginning at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds tonight (April 4).
He'll also play two shows at New York City's Rainbow Room on April 14, presented by Rough Trade Records and Rockefeller Center.
