The xx's Oliver Sim has shared a new solo single called Hideous.
Produced by bandmate Jamie xx and featuring former Bronski Beat and Communards singer Jimmy Somerville, the track unfurls over arpeggiated synths. It'll feature on the 32-year-old's forthcoming debut solo LP, 'Hideous Bastard', due out on September 9.
Following the previously unveiled cuts, Romance With A Memory and Fruit, it arrives as Sim revealed to the world that he has been living HIV since he was 17. In a statement released alongside the new song, he explained that much of the writing for his record was informed by his negative feelings since receiving his diagnosis as a teenager and the stigma attached to the illness.
"I haven’t written the record to dwell, but rather to free myself of some of the shame and fear that I’ve felt for a long time," he said. "I hear a lot of the music as joyous." See his statement in full, below.

3. Sensitive Child
