Muse have shared the title track of their upcoming album, 'Will Of The People'.
Propelled by electric guitar chugs and vocal chants, the new cut rolls out like a more poppy version of the Marilyn Manson song The Beautiful People.
It arrives with an intense, dystopian video, and follows the previously released singles Compliance and Won't Stand Down. Singer Matt Bellamy said:
"Will Of The People is a fictional story set in a fictional metaverse on a fictional planet ruled by a fictional authoritarian state run by a fictional algorithm manifested by a fictional data centre running a fictional bank printing a fictional currency controlling a fictional population occupying a fictional city containing a fictional apartment where a fictional man woke up one day and thought 'fuck this'."
The follow-up to 2018's 'Simulation Theory', meanwhile, is due for release on August 26 via Warner Records, and was self-produced by the British rock trio.
Additionally, the band have confirmed a short series of intimate North American and European shows for October. Stops include Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and New York City, along with Amsterdam, Paris, and Milan, next to a handful of festivals, including Mad Cool in Madrid, Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park, and Isle Of Wight Festival. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on June 24. The band commented:
"We had such a good time at our recent charity shows at the Apollo in London last month we wanted to play some of these types of smaller theatres that we hadn’t played for a long time in the US and Europe before we head out on tour in 2023."
