Following April's Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone), We Strive For Excellence marks the Maryland rock mainstays' second track of 2022, and the latest preview of the follow-up to 2018's 'Book Of Bad Decisions'.
Built on a sublime thrust of riffs and grooves, with Neil Fallon's wordsmithery ensuring it has a verbal hook to match, the punchy rocker is another exhilarating offering in the band's ridiculously consistent catalogue. No word on the next album yet, but singer Fallon had this to say about the song:
"We Strive For Excellence looks back fondly on childhood summers filled with grand plans gone awry, inexplicable bruises, untreated injuries, and of course, the timeless wisdom of Evel Knievel."
The four-piece have also shared a Spotify playlist to coincide with the release, along with news of US shows this autumn with special guests Helmet and Quicksand, who will be rotating nightly as main support. Tickets go on general sale on June 17.
They also have UK and European dates scheduled for November and December, along with Irish dates in the diary next to European summer festival slots.
