Dermot Kennedy has announced his second album.
'Sonder', the follow-up to his 2019 debut 'Without Fear', will arrive on September 23 via Island Records/Interscope. The Irish singer-songwriter said:
“The meaning behind ‘Sonder’ has resonated with me so much for years. I exist in an industry where we’re encouraged to constantly only think about ourselves and I find that exhausting and uninspiring. I want to learn about you. Let us share all of our triumphs, all of our troubles. Let this music belong to all of us, to find our own stories and our own solace within it.”
As a preview, watch the video for Kennedy's new track, Dreamer, a sombre, piano-led cut with candid, insightful lyrics: "Take my love and all my loss and get the darkness to dance." It follows the release of the record's lead single, Something To Someone, back in May.
Kennedy's next live appearance will be a headline set at Electric Picnic Festival in Co. Laois, Ireland.
UPDATE 15/08: The release of 'Sonder' has been pushed back to November 4.
Hey guys, I’ve got a couple things to announce. Firstly, I need to let you know that the release of my new album “Sonder” has been pushed back to November 4th. I hate making you guys wait longer for something I’m so eager to share, but this year has been wild and it’s necessary. pic.twitter.com/NUQwORcE5J
