The Wombats have announced a new EP.
'Is This What It Feels Like To Feel Like This?' comprises six tracks and will arrive digitally on November 18 via AWAL, with a vinyl pressing set to accompany the release.
Recorded after they completed their fifth studio album, 'Fix Yourself, Not The World', it was co-produced by the band, while bassist Tord Øverland Knudsen mixed the record back in his homeland of Norway, with longtime collaborators Mike Crossey and Mark Crew also assisting.
As a preview, the trio have released the EP's title track, a breezy indie-pop song. Frontman Matthew 'Murph' Murphy commented:
"I remember driving past an extremely rundown hotel and wondering what the hell could be going on in there, and that’s where this song was born. It’s about catching someone in a compromising situation that’s very unusual for their specific character and is far more fitting for your own."
The Wombats are currently in the middle of the second UK and Ireland leg of their 2022 tour, which continues this Sunday (August 21) in Belfast. They'll also appear at Portsmouth's Victorious Festival later in August, and have confirmed a run of intimate Australian gigs for November and December. Head here for details.
