Alex Lahey Shares New Single Congratulations, Announces Australian Tour

Alex Lahey has released a new single.
Congratulations is out now through Liberation Records, and finds Lahey delivering candid lyrics atop a pop-rock backdrop complete with earworm chorus. Discussing the inspiration for the track. She said:
"Two of my exes got engaged within an improbably short space of time of one another. What are the odds? Couldn’t not write a song inspired by it."
It arrives with what Lahey has called a "deeply unhinged" video that she co-directed with Jon Danovic. She added:
“It felt like the perfect time to execute a long standing concept I had of making out with myself on camera. Now both the song and the video feel like a message about choosing yourself over anyone else."
Today, the singer-songwriter also announced her first headline tour of her native Australia since 2019. She's lined up dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Ballarat, Wollongong, Brisbane, Adelaide and Canberra between October 26 and Novemer 4. Tickets go on general sale at 9am local time on September 1.
Prior to that, she has headline UK shows in the diary for September, including two dates supporting Manchester Orchestra in Manchester and London. Tickets for those shows are on sale now
