Chris Shiflett has dropped a new solo single, Born & Raised.

Following July's Long, Long Year, the uptempo, acoustic guitar-driven track fuses his Californian roots with Nashville's signature country sound.

Recorded in Nashville and produced by Vance Powell, it finds the Foo Fighters guitarist playing alongside Jack Lawrence on bass, Julian Doro on drums, keys by Mike Webb and Luke Schneider on the steel guitar. Shiflett commented:

"Vance was great and made me feel right at home, and the group of players he put together were on point.

"My trip out to Nashville in March of 2021 was my first time recording any solo material since I made 'Hard Lessons'," the artist's 2019 solo LP.

He added: "I was a little nervous heading out there to work with a producer and roomful of musicians I didn’t really know. In true Nashville style we made our introductions and got right down to work, hammering out the basic tracks in a few hours."

Earlier in September, Shiflett performed at London's Wembley Stadium alongside the rest of the Foo Fighters for a concert dedicated to their late drummer Taylor Hawkins. A second tribute show is scheduled to take place at Los Angeles on September 27.
