Lande Hekt has shared a new track.
The heartfelt and melodic Cut My Hair explores gender and sexuality over a cool, indie-rock groove. It serves as the final preview of the Muncie Girls bassist and singer's second solo LP, 'House Without A View', which is due out digitally this Friday (September 23).
Describing the song, Hekt said it's, "all about how my relationship with my gender has changed over the last few years as I’ve become more comfortable in myself and understood more about what makes me happy. It’s also about how easy it is to not talk to people when you’re struggling, which is something I did for a long time. There’s a line in there about climate change activism too."
Physical formats of the LP will follow on October 7 via Hekt's own Prize Sunflower Records label in the UK, with Get Better Records handling the release in North America. The record will also feature the previously unveiled singles Backstreet Snow and Gay Space Cadets.
Hekt will support Laura Jane Grace on her upcoming Canadian tour, which kicks off in Edmonton today (September 21). She also has her own autumn UK shows scheduled.
