Avenged Sevenfold are back with a new single and details of their new album.

The Huntington Beach metallers will release 'Life Is But A Dream...', their long-awaited eighth LP, on June 2, following up 2016's 'The Stage'. Penned and recorded over four years, it was inspired by the work of French author and journalist Albert Camus, with lyrics leaning into existentialism and absurdism.

The news comes after months of teasers, with the band's website being "hacked", and a foreshadowing countdown on their YouTube channel. As a taster, they've dropped the lead single, Nobody, a heavy, six-minute groove-metal track that arrives with a stop-motion video directed by Chris Hopewell.

To coincide with the news, the band have confirmed massive headline shows at Los Angeles' Kia Forum on June 9, and New York's Madison Square Garden on June 23. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on March 17.

They'll also headline Daytona Beach's Welcome To Rockville and Ohio's Sonic Temple Festival in May, and Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, California on October 5.
