Kelly Jones' Project Far From Saints Announce Self-Titled Debut Album, Share New Track

Thursday, 16 March 2023 Written by Jon Stickler

Far From Saints have announced their self-titled debut album.

The Kelly Jones-fronted band, which also features Patty Lynn and Dwight Baker from The Wind And The Wave, will release 'Far From Saints' on June 16. Lynn commented:

"It’s an album and it’s meant to be listened to from start to finish. That’s what I’d like for people to do. Listen to the whole thing and see it as a complete work on its own."

Alongside the news, the trio have shared the track Take It Through The Night, a bluesy track that draws from country, rock, folk and Americana. It follows their debut single, Let's Turn This Back Around, which arrived in January.

Jones said: "Patty wrote the whole Take It Through The Night lyric herself. I had a tiny part of a blues riff and Dwight ran away with it and turned the chorus into a bit of an Eagles and Joe Walsh vibe. We were just in full-on guitar mode. We were trying to make an Allman Brothers record with that one."

Far From Saints will make their live debut at London's Oslo on March 25, the day before they take to the stage at the iconic Royal Albert Hall as part of Roger Daltrey's Teenage Cancer Trust concert series.

They'll also support Kings Of Leon at two shows in Wrexham on May 27 and 28, and play EartH Theatre in London on June 5, before an appearance at Black Deer Festival and three outdoor shows lined up as special guests to Paul Weller.

'Far From Saints' tracklist:

1. Screaming Hallelujah
2. Faded Black Tattoo
3. Take It Through The Night
4. Let’s Turn This Back Around
5. Gonna Find What’s Killing Me
6. The Ride
7. We Won’t Get Out Alive
8. No Fool Like An Old Fool
9. Let The Light Shine Over You
10. Own It
