Produced by duo DAMEDAME*, Try Me is anchored by heavy percussion, while the British artist's powerful R&B vocals glide over flourishes of strings and piano.
"Putting yourself out there, in front of a world that has many opinions, as it only ever used to be me really being my own critic," she said of the song, which marks her first solo release in two years.

Smith's last solo work came in the form of her 2021 EP 'Be Right Back'. She put out her debut LP, 'Lost & Found', in 2018, but is yet to release a full-length follow-up.
