Ben Howard Announces Fifth Album 'Is It?', Shares New Single Couldn't Make It Up

Ben Howard has announced his fifth studio album.
The follow-up to 2021's 'Collections From The Whiteout' is called 'Is It?' and will arrive on June 16 via Island Records. It was recorded in summer 2022 during a 10-day period at the Le Manoir de Léon studios in the South of France.
Alongside the news, the singer-songwriter has shared the record's lead single and opening track, Couldn’t Make It Up, produced by Bullionan. The summery yet emotional offering emerged after Howard experienced two mini strokes (Transient Ischemic Attacks) in his garden last year, which left him unable to think and speak clearly for almost an hour. He commented:
"It was out of the blue. It was a confusing time. I found it impossible not to dwell on the absurdity of it, that with one tiny clot, one can lose all faculties. It really ate into the writing of the record."
Howard will hit the road for an extensive UK and European tour this summer, kicking off in Madrid on May 18 and wrapping up with a concert at Cardiff Castle on July 23. He has also announced a new date at London's Royal Albert Hall for June 1, with tickets on general sale at 10am on April 28.
His live schedule also includes appearances at various festivals, including Boardmasters and Victorious in August.
