The Weeknd has released a new single featuring Madonna and Playboi Carti.
Popular appears in his new television series, The Idol featuring Lily Rose Depp, which he created with Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim. It premieres on HBO Max this Sunday (June 4).
The track is led by Abel Tesfaye's trademark falsetto vocals atop club-ready, booming beats, with all acts involved dropping verses about living in the limelight: "Spent my whole life running from your flashing lights," sings Madonna.
The chorus, meanwhile, focuses on a woman who would do anything for fame: "Beggin' on her knees to be popular, That's her dream, to be popular, Kill anyone to be popular, Sell her soul to be popular." Press play below.
Back in April, Tesfaye released the single Double Fantasy featuring Future, which will also feature on the soundtrack for the new series.
Tesfaye will will soon bring his After Hours Til Dawn Tour to the UK and Europe. It supports his last two albums, 2020's 'After Hours' and 2022's 'Dawn FM'. Head below for dates and ticket details.
