Duff McKagan has announced his third solo album.
The follow-up to 2019's 'Tenderness' is called 'Lighthouse' and will arrive on October 20. It features guest appearances from his bandmate Slash, as well as Iggy Pop and Alice In Chains' Jerry Cantrell.
Alongside news of the record, the Guns N' Roses bassist has shared its title track, which begins as a pared-back number, but over halfway through gives way to rousing choral vocals and a full rock accompaniment.
McKagan also shared a note about the release: "The crashing….the cresting waves, the falling through of all that surrounds you. Life sometimes tosses us around, and we feel the want of comfort and the pull of home. A ship tossed like a toy through the Cape, sails ripped and the wood groaning with the scraping of its ballast….a soul trying with all its might to find peace and a center. Find a lighthouse. I have my lighthouse….its beacon swirling in the darkness with her warmth and promise of nurture, love, laughter, and all that is true. Won’t you be my lighthouse, give me light,…and bring me home."
Although only recently shared, the record will not include McKagan's spring single This Is The Song, which marked his first new music in nearly four years. Head below for the full tracklist and the album's artwork.
This summer, Guns N' Roses are set to top the bill at the iconic Glastonbury Festival, as well as headlining London's BST Hyde Park and Glasgow's Bellahouston Park, as part of a wider European tour.
After that, they'll head back to North America for a tour in the fall, which will include a headline slot at Sacramento's Aftershock Festival.
