Dolly Parton Shares New Track Feat Judas Priest's Rob Halford And Heart Cover With Ann Wilson

Friday, 16 June 2023 Written by Jon Stickler

Dolly Parton has shared two more tracks from her upcoming rock album.

The first is Bygones, a heavy duet with Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford that also features Mötley Crüe's bassist Nikki Sixx and new guitarist John 5, who drops in a fiery solo. Parton said:

"Bygones is an original song of mine featuring Rob Halford from Judas Priest with Nikki Sixx and John 5. It is one of my very favourites on the whole album. The song fits with so many couples and coupling my voice with Rob, one of my all-time favorites, made it even more special."

The second track is a faithful cover of Heart's Magic Man with the band's own Ann Wilson. The country icon added:

"I've always wanted a reason to sing Magic Man by Heart and it was one of my first choices for the album. I was so happy that Ann Wilson agreed to sing it with me. Nobody can outsing Ann, but I gave it my darndest, and we added a few lines that were not in the original. We wanted to have a few things that made it seem like ours. Hope I've made you proud. I think it's magic!"

They follow the record's lead single, World On Fire, released in May. The 30-song project is due out on November 17 via the 77-year-old's own Butterfly Records in conjunction with Big Machine Label Group.

Other big names set to feature on the tracklist include Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty, P!nk, Brandi Carlile, Cher, Sting, Miley Cyrus, Debbie Harry and Richie Sambora, among others. Head here for the full tracklist and cover art.
