Teenage Fanclub have released a new song called Tired Of Being Alone.
A breezy precursor to the Scottish band's 11th studio album, 'Nothing Lasts Forever', it follows the previously shared lead single and album opener, Foreign Land.
Penned by guitarist Raymond McGinley, the yearning indie-rock track arrives with a video filmed by longtime collaborator Donald Milne on location at Vibberodden Lighthouse near Egersund in Norway. McGinley commented:
"Towards the end of our session in Rockfield Studios making the album I woke up in the middle of the night. There was a guitar next to the bed. I picked it up and this song came out. The words for the chorus were there already. I recorded a rough version on my phone and then went back to sleep. We recorded the song later that day.
"As a band we like to trust our instincts and let things happen. As with Norman’s song Foreign Land this song only exists because we decided to go to the studio and make a record. If we’d waited for the stars to align first before recording we’d still be waiting now."
The five-piece will support the LP, due out on September 22, with UK and European shows in the autumn. They've also scheduled Australian and New Zealand dates for March 2024. Tickets for the UK and European dates are on sale now, with the gigs down under on sale from 10am local time on July 10.
