Hot Chip have dropped a new song, Fire Of Mercy.
Blending house and disco elements, over which producer and songwriter Yunè Pinku contributes guest vocals, the electro-pop track follows the group's 2022 album 'Freakout/Release'. Commenting on the single, Hot Chip co-founder Joe Goddard said:
"Fire Of Mercy relates to the central concept of William Blake's Songs Of Experience - it bemoans the corruption that inevitably comes from adulthood and longs for a return to the purity of childhood."
Pinku added: "Massive honour to work with Hot Chip as they’re huge legends within the electronic world. When they played me Fire Of Mercy and asked me to jump on the track, I was thrilled to work with them."
The synth-pop group will headline at The Chemical Brothers' after-party in Cardiff on September 9, following their support slot at the dance duo's headline show at Alexandra Head for The Bay Series. Hot Chip also play London's Drumsheds on October 21.
