The Coral Release New Track The Sinner

Wednesday, 16 August 2023 Written by Jon Stickler

The Coral have released a new song called The Sinner.

The western-inspired acoustic ballad will feature on the physical formats of the Wirral band's upcoming album, 'Holy Joe's Coral Island Medicine Show', due out on September 8. Frontman James Skelly said of the track:

"I was trying to imagine Calm With Horses as a noir with a soundtrack by a nameless Merseybeat group that only exists in a half-forgotten dream."

It'll appear on the record alongside the previously unveiled Drifter's Prayer, which includes narration from actor John Simm.

The LP will arrive alongside a second full-length titled 'Sea Of Mirrors', which was previously teased with the tracks That's Where She BelongsWild Bird and Oceans Apart, featuring a vocal cameo from Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy.

The Coral will hit the road in the UK next spring, with a tour billed as an intimate evening of music and conversation with Skelly and multi-instrumentalist Nick Power.

This summer, they'll appear at Victorious Festival in Portsmouth later in August.
