Public Service Broadcasting have released another track from their upcoming live album.
Featuring disembodied audio quotes from the BBC archives, A Candle Which Will Not Be Put Out is another grandiose orchestral art-rock hybrid lifted from 'This New Noise'. Speaking of the song, Public Service Broadcasting founder J. Willgoose, Esq. said:
"We really wanted to use the scale and physicality of the orchestra for a few dramatic set pieces across the Prom, and this piece is probably the best example of that. It builds on quite a simple melody until it gets to the big moment at the end, intended to be a rousing and defiant fanfare based around the notes - you guessed it - B, B and C."
Slated for release on 8 September via Test Card Recordings, the record will also feature the previously unveiled title track and Broadcasting House. It captures the electronica group's 2022 BBC Proms show at London's Royal Albert Hall, where they were accompanied by the 88-piece BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jules Buckley.
The band will appear at a series of UK indie record store signing events during release week, which will see them host fully immersive audio playbacks, complete with accompanying visuals at London's Institute of Contemporary Arts on September 10. Head here for details.
