Marika Hackman has returned with a new single called No Caffeine.
Ushering in a new chapter in her work, it marks the singer-songwriter's first new music in four years, and her debut release on Chrysalis Records.
The personal offering unfolds over a tension-building mix of driving percussion and light keys, with Hackman performing every instrument, except for the brass and string arrangements. Lyrically, it confronts panic attacks and anxiety.
"No Caffeine is a list of what to do to avoid having a panic attack and looking at my anxiety as an abusive partner," she explained. Head below to view the accompanying video, which was co-directed by Hackman and Natàlia Pagès.
Her most recent album was 2019's 'Any Human Friend', though she put out a collection of reworkings, 'Covers', in 2020.
