Sugar Horse Tease 'Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico' EP With New Single III - Consequences

Sugar Horse have shared a new single, III - Consequences.
Fusing ethereal synth work with floaty post-metal and shoegaze, the track serves as the latest preview of the British doomgaze band's 'Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico' EP, due out on November 3 via Fat Dracula Records. Commenting on the follow-up to 2022's 'Waterloo Teeth' EP, the band said:
"It’s frequently been difficult for us, as a band, to limit ourselves to ‘normal’ pop song lengths and structures…. as evidenced in pretty much all of our releases to date. From time to time, we feel the need to loose the ropes that bind us and let our Long and Tedious flag fly freely. 'Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico' is the result of said untethering."
Of the new track, which follows the previously shared cut II - Or, they added: "This section kind of feels like stepping into the eye of a particularly lengthy storm. It’s a short reprieve where we break everything down before climbing back up that staircase again.
"Lyrically, it describes the catharsis of art. You can take in any pain, hurt and bullshit from day to day like, then use it to generate something positive and beautiful. There’s something I find unbelievably beautiful in that kind of genesis. It’s probably the closest I come to any kind of religious thought. You take hell and turn it into heaven."
Sugar Horse will join 65daysofstatic for shows in Europe beginning later this week, before a date supporting Pianos Become The Teeth in Bristol on October 4.
