Green Day have announced a new single, The American Dream Is Killing Me.
The California pop-punk veterans performed the new track for the first time during their last minute 1,000-capacity show at Las Vegas' Fremont Country Club last night (October 19). After the gig, the trio took to social media to confirm the song's release date, which is next Tuesday (October 24).
In addition to the new cut, a number of rarities and fan favourites, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool ran through their 1994 album 'Dookie' in full as part of the mammoth career-spanning 29-song set. Their most recent album is 2020's 'Father Of All Motherfuckers'.
Additionally, fans who attended last night's show have shared a promotional flyer for a Green Day US stadium tour with The Smashing Pumpkins and Rancid, set for 2024. Dates and ticket details are still to be confirmed.
Green Day are in Sin City for a headline slot at this weekend's When We Were Young festival. They'll top the two-day event's bill with Blink-182, who just dropped their new album 'One More Time...'.
