Dolly Parton has shared her rock cover of the song Wrecking Ball.
The duet with her goddaughter Miley Cyrus will appear on the country music legend's first rock-orientated album, 'Rockstar', which is due out on November 17 via her own Butterfly Records in conjunction with Big Machine Label Group.
Opening with a stripped back piano melody, Cyrus joins the 77-year-old on the first chorus, before blazing guitars are introduced on verse two, on which Cyrus takes the lead, turning the track into a thundering power ballad. Parton said:
"When I heard Wrecking Ball I almost wept in my car. When it started into the chorus, it hit me like a wrecking ball! I thought, 'How great can a song be, and how great can Miley Cyrus be?' I thought, 'I have to have that song on my rock album, and I have to have Miley sing it with me!' I love it, and I hope you do!"
Parton has already teased the 21-song project with reworkings of tracks from The Beatles, Queen, Heart and 4 Non Blondes. She has also released the original songs Bygones with Judas Priest's Rob Halford, Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx and guitarist John 5, and the record's lead single, World On Fire.
The record also boasts further collaborations with Stevie Nicks, Elton John, Steven Tyler, Debbie Harry and more.
Cyrus released Wrecking Ball in 2013, with the track hitting the number one spot in charts on both sides of the Atlantic.
