The Smile have laid out plans for a new album, and a UK and European tour. The Smile tickets go on sale at 9am GMT today.
The trio, comprising Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, and Sons of Kemet’s Tom Skinner, will drop ’Wall Of Eyes’ through XL Recordings on January 26, following up their 2022 debut ’A Light For Attracting Attention’.
Recorded in Oxford and at London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios with producer and previous collaborator Sam Petts-Davies, the record also boasts string arrangements by the London Contemporary Orchestra.
Alongside the news, the group have shared the record’s haunting, strings-laden title track, which follows their single Bending Hectic from earlier this year. Head below to view the new song’s accompanying video, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
The Smile will support the album with a UK and European tour for next spring, which includes a huge show at London’s Alexandra Palace on March 23.
