BTS' Jimin has released a new digital single, Closer Than This.
The track arrives a week after the K-pop boyband phenomenon enlisted for his mandatory military service, and is said to be a love letter to the band's fans. Big Hit Music has also announced that the song conveys the singer's "love and affection for his fans".
Guided by his distinct, soft vocals over a light strummed guitar melody, it arrives shortly after the premiere of BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star, a new docuseries on Disney+.
Jimin and Jungkook are the latest members of the group to enrol in their mandatory basic training, with all seven BTS members now currently serving in the South Korean military. In South Korean law all able-bodied male citizens have to serve in the army for 18-21 months by the age of 28. The boyband is due to reunite in 2025.
Jimin released his debut solo album, 'Face', back in March.
