Mogwai have shared details of a new one-day festival in Glasgow called Big City.
The all-dayer has been created in partnership with Scottish independent promoter Regular Music and will see the Glaswegian band topping and curating the line-up.
Taking place at Queen's Park on June 29, the inaugural event will feature 12 acts, including Nadine Shah, Slowdive, bdrmm, Elisabeth Elektra, Goat Girl, Beak>, Kathryn Joseph, Free Love, Sacred Paws, Cloth, and Michael Rother. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on Friday (February 9). Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite commented:
"We are proud to announce the inaugural Big City festival in Glasgow this June in partnership with Regular Music. It’s great for us to have this event in our hometown of Glasgow. It’s an honour to have so many brilliant artists join us for what promises to be a special day."
In January, the group shared a trailer for a forthcoming documentary titled Mogwai: If The Stars Had A Sound, which chronicles their journey from their inception to the present day. It's set to receive its world premiere at SXSW in Austin, Texas in March.
Ahead of that, Mogwai will head to Australia later in February for their first tour down under in six years. In the summer, they'll play Dublin's In The Meadows festival and headline ArcTanGent near Bristol.
Their most recent album is 2021's 'As The Love Continues', which reached number one on the UK Albums Chart.
NEW // Curated by @mogwaiband themselves, the brand new @bigcityscot Festival will be taking over Glasgow on June 29, with @slowdiveband, @nadineshah, Goat Girl and loads more set to join 'em live at Queen's Park.
